Job interview fail

Ahhh I'm so upset. I applied for a internal promotion. Had an interview last week and smashed it. Couldn't of went better. I got through to second round. One two people got to this.

I lost my way and couldn't answer questions. After the interview I spoke to HR officer who interviewed me and she said I didn't sell my self enough. I had the interview with her and another gent.

I'm so gutted. I feel I'm so good my work is amazing. But when it comes down to interviews I can't keep it together

I know it absolutely sucks but give yourself a pat on the back! They clearly saw something amazing in you. You were a solid candidate! You've got feedback which is excellent as you now know where you need to improve for the next time.

Well done for getting to the second interview. You are clearly well thought of and fingers crossed for next time.

This does annoy me though. I had an excellent colleague. Brilliant at her job but not good at interview unfortunately.

Stupid company kept recruiting from outside. The candidates were nowhere near as good as my colleague but 'talked a better story' at interview.

We knew how good she was at her job but it appears that interview skills were more important 🤔.

This annoys me - I know it shouldn't but if you know someone is a good at a job what is the point of an interview - they are designed to predict whether someone will be the right fit for a job and they often are not a great predictor - if you know how someone works, I'd take that information over an interview any day!

The most frustrating thing is the job is a new role. The questions I couldn't of practiced. I'm so frustrated. I haven't heard if I have it or not. But I think I've blown it
