Taking holiday - number of hours to request if I work alternate weekends

If I work alternate Saturdays do I book the full 8 hours to take a days holiday?
My holiday entitlement is pro rata as part time,so 80% of a full-time worker.

My weekly contracted hours spread the Saturday into half one week and half the next so 4 each week. My contracted weekly hours are 32hrs instead of 40hrs FT. When in reality I do 36hrs the week I am working and 28 the next.
It means if I take holidays on Saturdays I work out taking more of my allowance than other days off the weekly contracted hours if I book the 8 hours - or should I be booking 4? (if that makes sense!)

I would go off contracted hours. So if you are contracted eight hours on Saturday and want Saturday off, take eight hours holiday.

Your holiday allowance should be calculated pro rata in line with the hours you work, so you should just take the hours you want off- 8 for a Saturday for example.
