Nursery staff ratios

Hi

Can anyone explain the staff ratios please?

So I know about level 3's, what about level 2's? I understand they have to be supervised, but where does it stand with regard to ratios?

I was under the impression that a level 2 is counted in numbers as long as they are with a level 3 - so in a under 2's room, with a level 2 and a Level 3 there could be up to 6 children?

Today I've had a very mixed conversation with staff at my nursery, one saying level 2's aren't classed as qualified at all (so don't count in ratio) the other saying level 2's are allowed half the amount of children - so in that baby room scenario they could have 4 children.

Any ideas which is correct? I've tried googling but haven't found much

The ratio for under 2s is normally 3 babies to every member of staff.

Same ratio, just need a level 3 present.

That's what I thought, thanks
