NHS - applying for other positions help

Hi
I currently work in a permanent Admin role for the NHS. I've seen another NHS position that I would like to apply for - do I need to advise my current manager that I will be applying elsewhere?
Thanks!

I work in the NHS in an admin role and only when applying for secondment have I informed my manager. It's like any other job you don't have to tell them if you don't want to. Although sometimes this can be used as leverage to secure a pay rise in your current role under AFC if they are desperate to keep you.

Thanks @Judenottheobscure I thought that might be the case. I think I will apply I have nothing to lose! X
