Bit of a conundrum here.
DP and I have been TTC since February, two chemicals during that time, had referral for fertility clinic as I am over 35 but otherwise healthy. Put a lot of the problem down to stress levels at work and called it quits very recently. Then conceived literally the day after. :) I know, life ey?βΊοΈ
Whilst I am thrilled about the prospect of this pregnancy sticking and the field is in high demand (Brexit and COVID related shortage, salaries going up) I am worried about how to go about Job hunting whilst pregnant. Especially as I have a rather long notice period so would need to tell the new employer early on. I know I won't qualify for maternity pay either way but I don't know how to approach the subject with any new or prospective new employer.
It is a profession that would have to make some health and safety provisions but I am more worried about not making it through probation periods because I'd legally have to tell them about the pregnancy much earlier - and they might not be that keen on having me for just a few months then.
What would you do? Screen employers at interview level even though pregnancy may not be viable as so early days?
Tell at first day? Still awkward as it will be obvious that I already knew when I interviewed.
Hiding it for longer may be even more dishonest? Plus possible health and safety concerns.
I feel like I need this sorted in my head before continuing the job hunt. π±
Any input appreciated. π
