I might be of some help, can you give me a clue as to what type of nursing job it is you are going for?

Thanks. Nursing registration lapsed. Been a sahm for a few years. It's actually for a hca job but I feel that the interview panel might possibly give me a harder interview, hence my panic about current nursing issues. Perhaps not, I'm not sure.

not nurse, but in nhs, if its for a hcs job they will just want to know that you will put the pts interests first and that you will report back any care issues to the appropriate person.
I would think that real enthusiasm for the job/ward in hand will be brillantly received.. good luck!!!!

No I don't think they will make it harder, you will make a top notch HCA, they are getting years of nursing experience for the price of a HCA they should think themselves very lucky. They may ask something like'how do you feel about returning as a HCA?' There is no harm in reading a copy of NT next time you are in the newsagents to give you an idea of recent NHS policy. HCAs can now join the RCN so you may want to think about that, If your aim is to do a Return to nursing course in the future, don't be scared to say so if you get a 'where do you see yourself in 5 years' type question.
Good luck!
