What happens if you had a holiday day booked off work then you got ill and had a sick line at the same time?

Do you loose the holiday or should you get it once your back at work?

When this happens to someone in my team I let them cancel the holiday days and take it as sick leave, assuming they weren't actually on holiday somewhere.

I think it can be changed to sick leave and then you should still get your holiday at a different time

We get our holiday day back, although in practice I’m not sure I’d bother.

In the NHS you get it back.

Have you asked them if they will change it to sick leave?

We only get it back if you can produce a doctor's certificate, which I'm not sure how that works as you normally self certify for first 7 days.

No, tbh its a big place and they are crap at telling you the right thing. The management just aren't consistent and they do the hr. One manager has already told me something that i looked at more closely and seen it was wrong, that didn't go down well.
