My lovely boss and dear friend called me today to say she's only got weeks left. From a personal perspective I'm devastated. But I need to spend the weekend thinking about logistics and how I help the rest of the team through this. We are a small (<20) non profit, working remotely in the UK. Our HR is outsourced so wil be in touch with them. Above me is the interim CEO and the Board. Currently only I and the Chair know. Payroll and DIS benefit isn't an issue. She wants to try and join a team meeting to say goodbye. What do I do about getting her equipment back? Do I leave her systems access live till she's gone? We have no policy on this scenario.
