On call rate?

Hi,

I work as a Personal Assistant for some one with a disability. It's set up privately so the PAs are directly employed by the family member.
My employer is setting up an on call system so that if the PA on the rota is sick, there will be someone else to cover without scrabbling around to see if someone is free.
Being part of the oncall system is optional, and as with regular shifts, we would give our availability in advance and then employer would create the oncall rota.

I think the plan is for on call shifts to be 12 hours, 8-8 both days and nights and the working rate is £15/ph. How much is reasonable to be paid for being on call?

Thanks!

DH is in a very different field but for being on call he gets 25% of the day rate and 125% if he does get called

@Hoppinggreen

Thank you, yes I was thinking 20-25% is reasonable. I don't think a higher call in rate would be appropriate, but maybe a minimum hours if called in.
