I recently had a sick day at work for the first time when I returned to work I found that the entire office knew I had a stomach bug. (like she told everyone) is that legal?
I'm worried because I have an upper and lower scope with some removals coming up that I need to book medial leave for. I know she will ask details about what I am doing each day. I would rather the entire work place not know that I need to take prep that will make me need the toilet all day.
Is there a way around this? Is she allowed to ask details if I tell her I'm having a small procedure, and give some vague details?
I know she will most definitely want me in on the third day, so I'll bring a note home from the sscope to show her on rreturn. 'I'm just asking how do I go about booking this time off while keeping my private life private?
I've never had an issue booking medical leave before as I had a really nice trusting boss previously, he had never asked about what the prep or the procedure were he just let it be unpaid medical leave, and asked if I wanted it to be holiday pay, I always said no to this. I don't think scopes and prep is a holiday.
Has anyone else had this issue where their boss let's people know their medical info?
