To give a bit of background I’m a fairly robust person, can fight my corner with the best. I do have some mental health problems but they are under control and well managed.
I have an issue with a contractor at work.
I don’t work with him directly but speak to him most days and have to see him about once a week.
From the start he’s called me sweetness, gorgeous, darling, etc! I hate it it makes my teeth itch. I do not react and speak to him in a friendly but entirely professional manner.
Lately he’s ramped it up, the latest message I had was him suggesting he’d like a rub down from me!!! To put into context we were discussing a work problem that required rubbing down a piece of equipment.
I ignored him completely and reported to my boss. The boss has spoken to him but used a situation that wouldn’t make him believe he was the perpetrator of the comments but that someone else was harassing me (I hope that makes sense).
What would you do in this situation? As the boss has spoken to him I feel it’s unnecessary for me to say anything but would like to put the creep back in his box. Why do men do this? He’s almost 60 FFS!
