Hoping you can help. As part of a course I'm doing, I need to come up with a list of professional standards for an administration team. It's as generic as that, with not much more to go on!

So, I'm assuming this is a set of standards/principles that the team need to have. I'm thinking:

1.Be an active team player

  1. Treat everyone fairly
  2. Always try to direct the customer to the right place rather than "it's not me"
  3. Be proactive

But to be honest, I'm struggling. Has anyone come across any such standards in the workplace?

To me your list reads more as a list of "nice to haves" rather than details like confidentiality, freedom of information act guidelines/timeframes that sort of thing.

Should include GDPR, provision for data collection, storage and use.

Commitment to their own personal and professional development

Commitment to the development of others by sharing knowledge and good practise

Meeting legal/statutory requirements (general ones eg GDPR as pp said or any industry specifics, e.g accountancy codes of practice or if a legal firm etc)
Follow staff handbook and HR policies.
Follow health and safety rules
Meet environmental aims

Your list is a bit like a vague job description. Use job adverts and CSR pages for inspiration.

From your list I think you'd personally be interested in FISH! philosophy. I recommend reading it sometime. I'm a huge fan.
