Get your thinking caps on! I'm interviewing next week but I didn't write the person spec as I was off. Anyway, it now looks like I have to do multiple skills tests to demonstrate lots of skills required! I'm trying to group them together.

Can anyone help with an idea of a skills test that could combine and demonstrate budgetary experience and/or database skills with, say, minute taking? I could also build into this problem solving skills.

Any help gratefully received - I've looked at this too long!

How about a basic write up a plan for an event?

So, we want to run an event, and this is the clients budget, and some key features with costs?
So they'd have to make sure the features are within budget, work out quantities, tax, commission? And then for the minute taking it'd be taking basic notes and writing up very basic outline/overviews of the plan back to show they've understood the brief and can make eligible notes from it.
Problem solving could be choosing priorities or for bonus, mention they'd try get a better deal for something?

That kind of thing? Is that too complex?

No not too complex at all! Thanks so much for that. Writing notes up on the actual plan they've devised is great as well, as it will demonstrate a clear understanding and also ties in with influencing senior staff on their recommendations!

You're welcome, it's something to work with! It might show where their strengths are and their method of thinking. Maybe get them to show what made them make the decision they've made.
