Anything in an abbatoir

pastaparadise · 25/08/2021 00:40

Also go with abbotoir, or anything involving creulty to animals (fisherman the added bonus that i get very travel sick). Even pest control and butchery must be grim.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 25/08/2021 00:41

Steeplejack or one of those window cleaners in a cradle (fear of heights)

pastaparadise · 25/08/2021 00:42

I actually remember a show like this about 30 years ago. Something along the lines of "I'm a 'shit job' but I'd never be a 'worse job'. Ie I'm a toilet cleaner but I'd never be a fisherman'

Shelovesamystery · 25/08/2021 00:46

Working in a nursery or preschool. I'm not a fan of toddlers, babies or other people's children in general. I have 2 dc's of my own and that was more than enough crying, tantrums and nappy changing for me. What is weird is that I'm actually brilliant with children Confused

Refuse collector, I really appreciate how hard they work, the smell of a bin lorry if you get near it makes me heave. I also have a phobia of maggots and assume there will be a fair few of them in summer.

FriedasCarLoad · 31/08/2021 00:57

Air traffic controller.

I have severe ADHD and poor spatial awareness. It would be everyone's nightmare for me to do that job. Blush

Hoppinggreen · 31/08/2021 17:31

Nursing, I’m not squeamish at all but caring for people isn’t my thing.

The smell of that shit truck, as it was locally known, in the summer months was Envy

Anything involving bugs
Nurse

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 31/08/2021 17:38

Optician

A psychiatrist for sex offenders in prisons etc. Or a defence lawyer for one. I seriously don't know how they can do it.

MadMadMadamMim · 31/08/2021 17:39

I am claustrophobic.

Submariner. Miner. Anything that involved me crawling through small spaces and feeling trapped.

RubyGoat · 31/08/2021 17:51

Picking & packing. I did it, briefly. Some of the other employees had been there many years. They looked much older than they actually were. On the morning I quit, I woke up & cried; I couldn't get out of bed I was so stiff. They still paid me, apparently about 50% of new employees didn't come back on their 2nd day, & 90% of people didn't manage a full week. Maybe it's easier now, with automation /machinery etc. Maybe not.

I'm also claustrophobic. I'm ok as long as I can at least sit upright. If it's tighter than that, hard pass. I'd have to be in significant danger to voluntarily get into a tight space.

bizboz · 31/08/2021 17:53

Campsite toilet cleaner.

Anything involving being up high like window cleaner or scaffolder.

Bus driver - must be stressful!
