Job acceptance etiquette

So, I had a job interview today which went really well. I know they have one more person to see on Monday, but the interviewer seemed to give strong hints that there would be good news coming. Which is obviously great.

But I also have another interview next Wednesday, for a job i want slightly more, though there’s not loads in it. Almost exactly the same salary but the subject is slightly more up my street.

Whenever I’ve been offered a job in the past I’ve just accepted on the spot, I’ve never had two similar potential options like this before.

Now obviously i might not get either, but… if Job 1 offers on Monday, can I stall them, or is that terribly rude? It feels rude!
Or do i accept and pull out if i get Job 2? That also feels a bit shitty.

Help!

(Watch me get neither now 😂)

Just be honest… say you’d love to accept and you’d be very keen but you need to think about it seriously, ask them to put it in writing… I reckon you can buy a week this way.

I agree say you are thrilled etc when do they need an answer by.

I had this recently but had made it clear before interview I had had another offer - just a timing thing the way it worked out! Just be honest, that’s all you can do. I accepted the second offer in the end. It’s tricky choosing though!
