Im still in my probation period, ive had to already take time off for a covid scare at school, dd sick, me sick, now im ill again. I never get ill!
I can tell new boss thinks its really shitty.... even today i dont feel like i can go back in.
Scared as i don't want to get sacked!

Do i go in regardless?

It sucks, but normally in probation or to be relied on in a job you have to go in if you can - or at least show willing to do so. However in a pandemic its harder to know what boss will prefer - any covid symptoms?

It's really difficult when starting a new job and needing to build rapport, they don't know you very well yet so will make potentially unfair judgements if this isn't normal for you. Assuming you aren't contagious, I would try very hard to go in. I remember working with an extremely painful ear infection (bacterial) when I'd only been in my new job a couple of weeks, ordinarily I wouldn't have been a martyr and just called in, but I really didn't want them to get the wrong idea about me (even though I know they'd be lovely about it). Also in my place of work sickness triggers are stricter on probation. If it's something contagious that's a different matter though.

Is your children's father in their lives? Is he doing his fair share when it comes to taking time off for them being ill etc?
