SMP1 form

Hello,
I am going on maternity leave 27th August but my employer still hasn't given me SMP1 form and I can't claim matternity allowance. He promissed me that he'd do it next week. Do you think that I will lose money because of the late claim matternity allowance? I've read that decision takes 20 working days which means I will have it after the delivery. And the othet thing that worring about is that the employer doesn't have a company stamp (it's a small company) but on the SMP1 form it requires a company stamp. Is it going to be a problem to send the form without a stamp?

Maternity allowance can be backdated for a max of 3 months, so you've still got plenty of time to put your claim in. In previous companies I've worked for where we didn't have a proper stamp, we used to attach a compliments slip to the form instead and never had any issues with them being rejected.
