if an employee gets a letter giving them their last working day after resigning, what can you do if you didn't resign?

Can you give us more information? Did you say you were quiting verbally etc etc?

StepGarlic · 12/08/2021 19:44

Ask why they think you've resigned?

gurglebelly · 12/08/2021 19:48

You send an email to whoever sent you the letter, cc'ing your manager and say 'I think there has been some kind of admin hiccup, as I haven't resigned and have no intention of leaving the organisation'

Tell them you didn’t resign?!

shally1968 · 12/08/2021 22:13

I was acting up for a year and then went back to being casual after this. Previously I worked nearly full time as a casual but suddenly I wasn’t called upon? My contract allows me to work with other agencies, so I started with a local agency. I have worked for my company weekly for about 7 months, the only thing is they didn’t call me and offer the job, they called the agency to fill their position because they didn’t have sufficient staff?! So I worked for my company through the agency?!
I then get a letter giving me my last day after resigning???! Which I have never done.
I have spoken to them and they tell me I have to appeal??? I havnt got anything to appeal.
I asked how I communicated this resignation and could I see the proof??!
They just came back and said to appeal?!!!!!!

So you’re not currently working for them? You’re working for an agency, assigned to this company?

If you have not directly given in your resignation to your manager or HR they have no means to fire you, unless it is specified in your contract that they can make you resign with x amount of days.
