Anxiety at work

user540245 · 03/08/2021 18:41

I'm struggling with anxiety at work at the moment.

Staff turnover is high at the moment and the workload keeps increasing and I find myself getting more and more anxious.

I don't have much of a relationship with any of my colleagues, I was on long term sick and they all started whilst I was off and I just haven't connected with them.

I hate feeling like this 😢

That sounds really difficult.
Is the anxiety new since you have returned to work, or have you suffered with it before?

Yes it's since I returned to work.

So do you think it is caused by work?
Have you talked to anyone about the increasing workload? Do you see your manager regularly - are they approachable?

Not sure if its caused by work or if work just makes it worse. The workload has increased for everyone not just me but I feel as if I can't cope with it all, I don't have much confidence. Manager is new too since I was off sick I don't find him very approachable.

I'm sorry to hear your work is anxiety inducing at the moment. You say your workload is increasing but what would happen if you didn't complete all the work? Are you able to tell us what line of work you're in?

Can you raise this with HR ?
I mentioned anxiety about work recently and my manager offered a Stress at work tool to evaluate it! At least they recognise it

I'm not sure what would happen if I didn't finish the work, I'm a bit of a perfectionist and like to get things done I guess I need to change my mindset.
