Are you signed off sick with a doctors note?

They are required to keep in touch. Are you expecting to return soon? If so will it be phased or need adjustments put in place?

it really depends. if i ring in sick as i have a dogdgy tummy and can't travel, then a quick call to say "what is the password for x and who do i need to speak to about y" isn't an issue - or sending emails one can answer when not actually being sick (which generally passes after a few hours).

but if off with stress, maybe not. Though an initial handover seems reasonable at an agreed time.

Short answer yes. Longer answer it depends, if they are contacting you very often and unnecessarily it wouldn’t be unreasonable of you to ask them not to.

Yes in short. You could possibly argue that they are causing you some sort of injury by contacting you (and make a pi claim) but there’s no law that would prevent them contacting you.

Yes they can and will need to call you about "XYZ" if it is needed for the company during the time you are not there. However if your about to start going back into work again, it can be to make preparations to make work easily more suited to your needs (like if you broke your arm).

Yes other than in the most exceptional circumstances. Actually contacting someone when off sick is part of supporting them and showing concern for welfare, as well as understanding any issues upon their return to work.

My friend works as a teacher and she tells me that if she rings her Staff when they off sick the union start threatening her saying no contact with staff when off which I find incredible....she does it anyway as she sees it like me
