I am about to start a full time role after being part time (3 days) since my youngest was born. Now aged 8 and 7 I’m going to be working Mon-Fri. It’s a promotion, a much shorter commute, obviously more money and my children will be at school but I’m really struggling to convince myself that I’m doing the right thing!

Congrats! The shorter commute will be amazing & if it doesn't work out, you can always step back a bit.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you.

I currently work in a school as a Teaching Assistant and I work 3 days. I've landed another full time job for the Civil Service, working from home and the pay is much better. My youngest is 5 now so the timing is perfect but I'm so nervous about going full time. I really enjoyed having two days to myself and I'm worried I'll fall behind with housework etc.

I've not really decided what to do yet. Have you handed your notice in?

Yes I’ve just left my part time position and and start the full time one in a couple of weeks! Tbh we’re starting to struggle on my part time wage so am hoping the money will be a big incentive!

A few of us in the same boat. The money will make a huge difference to us too.

Good luck to both of you.
