How long for NHS pre employment checks?

I interviewed last Tuesday for the job and had a phone call later that day to confirm I had got it!! I'm very pleased! Interviewer that phoned me said next step is the pre employment checks including occupational health assessment and once all that completed they would confirm start date. All great however it's been a week now and i haven't heard anything else at all. Does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes them to get the ball rolling?

I just had an interview not long ago and got the job - it was around a week and a half before I got the email through with a secondary form to fill out, vaccination records, health forms etc. They also e-Mail your references at this time too.

I've been told varying things but I honestly think between getting the job and starting it can sometimes be 2 or 3 months!

If you applied via NHS jobs or Trac you can start uploading documents there.

Funnily enough about 10 mins after posting this thread I have had a email with all the info to get the ball rolling!!! Yes I've heard can take a few months between getting the job and starting! I'm just being impatient as I'm dying to hand my notice in!

When I joined the nhs i started two months after job offer but only because I kept chasing up hr . I've known it take a lot longer if you just leave it to hr to contact you

My son in law got given the job in October but started in march. Huge cockups including making him drive from London to Scotland to have a blood test and a check of his BCG vaccination during January lockdown in the snow. I despair
