Civil Service Cv

I am in the process of putting some applications together for the Civil Service, and the CV section confuses me.

I know I need to remove all identifying information but how should I structure it? Should I structure it like a normal CV?

How does this order look?

Key skills
Employment (with key responsibilities)
Education
Relevant training
Relevant accreditations and memberships

Anything I'm missing?

Also, are bullet points acceptable?

Is it one section for employment and once section for key achievements? Or have they asked for a CV to be attached?

JonahofArk · 05/07/2021 19:05

@Doorhandleghost it's just one text box to fill in.

I would cover your employment history and key achievements then. Unless it specifically says so in the job ad,, they won’t be marking your CV anyway as part of the exercise, usually it is for information only.

Bullet points are fine.

My CV was marked in one application as it was classed as "experience", they were using experience and behaviours for assessment, other applications it hasn't been. I just copied and pasted my CV into the free text box removing the so called identifying info, which is pointless really as CVs are generally very identifying especially in my sector. And yes I have lots of bullet points in my CV, easier for the reader. Behaviours I do in prose.

Thanks all, this is really helpful. For my current application I've already completed an online assessment and need to write a relatively long personal statement so I'll just copy and paste my CV and remove the identifying information. I use bullet points in my CV so glad to see that's acceptable.

Make sure all the relevant info about your experience is in the personal statement, don’t assume they will also read your CV when they are sifting.

It removes all formatting including bullet points

@Simbacatisback depends on the free text box, I could still copy and paste the bullet points in (not properly formatted but enough to serve its purpose, if I needed to add another one I'd have to copy one from word!)
