Getting into counselling work

My dh qualified as a counsellor in January. He is currently a full time LSA in an alternative provision school. From September, he will be doing 3 days a week as an LSA, then 1 day a week at a different school as a counsellor (which is great, shame they couldn't offer more). So he then wants to get some private clients. Even just 2 or 3 to start with would be ideal to top up the salary.
Anyone got any tips for getting those first few counselling clients?

That’s great that he got the Counsellor role...

He can put his profile on Counselling Directory and Psychology Today - I think there are many others. If he has the BACP Certificate of Proficiency he can go on the BACP website (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

If he uses Facebook he can promote himself on there, or Google Businesses (both free).

Good luck!

@CrispsnDips that's great. He's got his Facebook page ready to go but hasn't looked into Google businesses yet so that's another avenue.
Thanks for the tips Smile
