6month role or teaching assistant role

I work on care and have been offered a permanent role as a teaching assistant in a special needs school paying a good wage as challenging behaviour.
However I have also been offered a 6 month role in administration with a charity with the chance the role may go permanent if we stay out of lockdown.
I have only ever dreamed of an admin role but worry I could end up back in care if the role isnt extended ad I would not have enough experience to apply for other roles.
What would you ladies do in my shoes ?

Depends on stage of life / budget, but I think for most of us a permanent role would be more important than a temp one. I personally think it unlikely we will stay out of lockdown - that debate is for another thread - but, if I had bills to pay, then I'd be inclined to choose permanent over temporary.

However, a TA in specialist provision is quite a vocational role. Usually only taken on by people who really want to do that role. I think if you don't 'really want it' you won't last long as you will hate it OR if you do really want it, then you will find admin boring very soon. Both are great jobs, but jobs for very different people. So, it depends which type of person you are.

@BackforGood .Thanks for your reply ..
mid 40s single with older children. I have been in a day centre for adults with learning disabilities for 10yrs and lifestyle co ordinator for 2 years and brown owl etc so I always wanted to be a teaching assistant but these children are in classes of 6 and out of main stream .

I agree I might get bored in admin also charities are in a very difficult place money wise at the moment
