Just had an NHS interview I think I messed up, do they usually tell you on the call if you got the job? Thanks

It would be very unusual to be told at the interview that you have the job. They will have others to interview.

What did you think went so badly? THere are plenty of stories where people thought interviews went terribly and then were offered the job. So don't despair.

My friend got told she got the job on her interview but we both had totally different ones for same job they didn't even ask me what skill I could bring, and I did fine on scenario based questions but other things didn't go so well when asking about policy and procedures and stuff, some stuff I wouldn't know got asked and my confidence went as soon as I thought I messed up. I did awful but I will 100% re apply if this is the case and do more research on everything I really hope I get it but I did explain that I was very nervous and that I did want to progress and have a career and I feel like the NHS is the best way forward etc. I dunno I feel like they may pick up on me being anxious etc

I was told on the same day after they had finished the interviews.

Ahh right so I'm guessing I haven't got the job then

Was “knowledge of NHS policies” on the person spec? If it was, that’s them telling you what they are testing at interview, so you should look them up.

No, was asking some about what's some of them, I should've looked them up, and asking what sort of things I will be facing as a HCA my mind went blank I could only say aggressive patients this is what I mean my mine went blank I have anxiety so it was difficult

Does anyone know if I can re apply if I'm unsuccessful? Thanks

Do you have experience as a HCA? I'd imagine the amount of applications for interviews are high as many HCA's would love an NHS role.

I work in a care home, never worked in a hospital

Yes it is experience in a different setting. If you've no luck try again.
I hope you get it but don't give up hope if this particular job isn't available.
It won't be long until they recruit again.
Best of luck. Flowers

I hope so! Just some things I wasn't familiar with due to not working with the NHS, thanks so much I'll definitely be re applying as this job I'm really wanting, wanting to progress and get a career! Thanks again x

Username 17, I didn't receive a phonecall until the afternoon the day after so all is not lost.

UserName17 · 23/06/2021 18:10

Okay no problem! Will they ring to say if I'm unsuccessful? X

You’re more likely to get an email (assuming you applied via Trac).
