Fire and Rescue application help

I want to apply for a marine rescue crew member role in the fire and rescue service (ideally I want to be a firefighter but currently no roles advertised) It will be a complete career change for me. I was wondering if anyone had experience applying/ recruiting for this type of role, and could give me any insight into the process/ any tips for my application.

Are there application support days, and if you are a woman ( or another minority applicant) ask if there is a positive action team who might help you. Many frs are trying to increase their number of women so will be lined up to help.
