Long term SAHM thinking of Ambulance Service, how do I get there?

I’ve been a SAHM for 10 years, before then I worked in teaching, offices, shops, pubs, etc. I don’t want to return to teaching.

I’ve been volunteering at vaccine clinics (not in a medical role) since January and it has made me realise I really want to return to work.

I am drawn to medicine but think I’ve left it to late for traditional doctor/nurse retraining.

I would like to find out how to get from here to emergency medical technician (I appreciate paramedic may be a step too far at this point), does anyone have any ideas, tips, etc?
Is anyone on here an EMT? Or similar?

I have a year of primary school runs to deal with then I will be so much freer to commit time to training and work.

But I’d like to use the next year as wisely as possible, what’s the best thing to do to improve my chances?
Should I try working in a care home as a basic care level of experience?
St John’s aren’t taking any volunteers on around me atm.
Struggling to think of what else I can do?

Any thoughts appreciated, tia
