35 years experience in accounts & desperately need a change

I've been working in accounts for 35 years, have all round experience & qualifications. I've got 11 years to go until retirement. Is it possible to change career so late in life, especially in the current jobs market? It's sucked the life out of me & I feel like I'm just biding my time waiting to retire/die. Life's too short to feel like this for the next decade. But I have to think about putting more money into my pension too I suppose, but we have no debts or mortgage.
I used to be a self employed book keeper many moons ago & I could put up with that because of the flexibility & independence it offers. With all these accounts packages that are supposed to be user friendly & aimed at the small independent business is there still a market for self employed book keepers? I've had a quick look online & the market seems to be flooded with people offering their services.

I also feel I need to be more active at my age & sitting at a desk hunched over a computer is no good for your health. I'm overweight, bored stiff & too mentally tired to think about hitting the gym by the time I'm free after tea in the evenings

What kind of places have you worked for in the past? I'm wondering if a change in industry and new role would help.

E. G. Demand planning at a sports retailer?

What qualifications do you have? What about a change in industry? Maybe some consultancy work?

Would you consider project work? I know lots of business analysts and testers who were accountants. Working on projects to install/upgrade finance and reporting systems.

Accountants are especially liked for the reporting work as they are quick to understand the rules when BoE or FCA make changes.

A change? Do you mean using your accounts experience to move into a slightly different area? Or something totally different?
