I have just received an invitation to interview for an office manager position I really really want. Its in the volunteer sector and will be my first job interview in 8 years and a promotion from my current job of office administrator. The invitation doesn't give any indication on what type of interview they are doing (q&a, STAR method etc...) so I don't know where to even begin in preparing?? Any tips???? I do know its an interview panel of 3 people so very daunting!!!

If you know the interviewers name, call them this when your first greeted. Appreciate you won’t know all 3.
Good eye contact. Don’t fidget with hands.
Research the company.
Study the job description/person specification and talk about your skills to meet these.
If you need to return to a question, this won’t be marked against you.
Take your time if you need a moment to gather your thoughts/words that’s fine.

Whilst your shown to interview room, ask about their experience working for the company, how long you worked here etc.

Good luck!

In my experience charity job interviews are often less formal. You will need to know the history of the charity, it’s aims and mission statement, the work it currently undertakes and what it plans moving forward. You need to be clear in your admin experience and relate it to the work they do. They may have a particular system set up for data capture so could you use it, have you used similar. Be open honest and clear and ask questions. They want someone with the relevant experience but also someone who understands what they do and can implement it.
