My employment over the years has been determined by hours and proximity to home. I'm a single parent and currently work managing the front of house at our family bistro.
I went back to uni a few years ago and achieved a diploma of higher education in working with children, young people and families. I have a full compliment of GCSEs and a level 3 access diploma in health sciences, psychology and criminology.
I have also worked in care for years with vulnerable clients including those with dementia, drug addicts, young parents and I am qualified to teach pregnancy peer supporters.
I want to train as a probation officer as my youngest is now almost 14. I am pretty confident as a person and I am very good at getting on with anyone. I don't shock easily nor do I judge. I've not lead a sheltered life. I would love to hear from others about their experience and what volunteer experience I could do to strengthen my application.
