second jobs

I'm applying for a job which would be part time. They seem to have a policy about not having second jobs but its not clear whether that would stop me from taking another job on the days I don't work for them. Could they stop me from doing so? I didn't really want to ask that question but it makes me worried about applying. Its a job that interests me but I'd need to find something else to increase my income to do alongside it. Anyone know what my rights are on this? (it wouldn't be for a competitor)

This is unlikely to be about statutory rights, rather it would be about the contract. I would think it most unlikely that somebody offering a part time position would prohibit working for a non competitor. If they did, well I dare say you could sign the contract and then go to a court and challenge it, but this is stress most people could do without. I would suggest you just ask and take it from there.
