First HR interview

I've got my first of hopefully 3 rounds of interviews scheduled with the HR director.

Can anyone suggest some good questions for me to to ask them?

They're not based in the same country and oversee a large region for a large global company so unlikely they'll know much about the local situation. I have lots of questions about culture and the business but I've been told by the recruiter to save those for interviews 2 and 3 (presuming I make it that far).

Any other advice for first interview with HR gratefully received!

Ignore the recruiter and ask the questions you mention. It will show your interest in them and will give you info you need as to whether you want to invest further time on that application. Recruiters have such strange ideas sometimes

You can always ask what the interviewer enjoys most about working for the company, their career progression, biggest challenges and opportunities for the company/industry - there’s loads if you google - plenty to divide up into 3 interviews.

Definitely ask about culture, what’s on the people plan/strategy and what parts of it they’re most excited about

Another good one is to ask what your priorities would be in the first 6 months in role.
