Redundancy

plumdeplum · 04/06/2021 00:46

I have had a terrible 18 months with a very traumatic incident. I have just learned today that I may be made redundant. I don't even know where to start with this my head is so full... I work for a small charity.

Any advice would be welcome. My head is spinning.
Thanks

Have you been put on formal warning?

Look at the acas website for further information.

@busylizzie61

Thank you, I just had a brief meeting where it was announced and I am to have a further consultation next week. I was surprised there was an HR woman present this week. i have had such a terrible year my daughter has been seriously ill in ICU and now this.

What kind of advice are you looking for? Are you concerned about the legality of the process, or were you looking for careers advice or something else for example?

@Aprilx

Thanks for replying. I really don't know, it just feels like another bombshell has gone off. The first step I guess is to remain calm. I don't feel like I can deal with this. My daughter is currently in a neurological rehab facility.

I would ask your line manager for a private conversation and let him/her know what’s going on with your daughter. It can’t hurt to ask for consideration, even if it’s temporary.
