CSP reset question

user426373821 · 03/06/2021 18:37

Can anyone help me work out when my CSP would reset?
I receive 26 weeks of sick pay which I used last year from Feb 2020 - Sept 2020, I was then off sick without pay until Dec 2020. My contract states:-
26 weeks entitlement within a 12 month rolling year from the start of the absence. Where a colleague has used their CSP entitlement in the 12 months prior to their absence, no additional CSP will be paid.
So would it reset 12 months after the start of my absence so Feb 2021 or does it reset after 1 year of no sickness Dec 2021?

If it’s a rolling year it doesn’t “reset”. It means any time you are off sick, they will look back 12 months from that point and see how much CSP you’ve used.

Yes so if you were sick today, they would look at your sickness absence history between 3rd June 2020 and today.

@flowery @Pissoi

so sorry if this sounds a silly question but does it mean that I now have 13 weeks of CSP as its been over a year from Feb - June 2020?

Only the past 12 months is relevant. So if you have 26 weeks a year, right now you’d need to deduct any you’ve had in the past year from 26 and whatever’s left is what is available now.
