Has anyone left the Civil Service?

I'm a civil servant in frontline keyworker role. We are all overworked and there is no end in sight, there are never enough staff. Our senior management don't care about the frontline staff and I feel this is a reflection of our government after the last year! They don't care about the minions.
I really want to leave but the pay is good due to our shift allowance. I don't even know what I would do if I left.
Has anyone made a similar move?

I have, but it was a few years ago now and I wasn't in a frontline customer-facing role. I took redundancy. I was bored and wanted to go into a completely different sector for which I already had the necessary skills.

So my experience was probably a bit different from yours, but I totally understand what you're saying about work pressure etc. But it is hard to give up that reliability of a civil service job. I had a few wobbles about giving up regular pay, flexi working conditions, good holidays etc. I wouldn't leave without a solid future plan though. Can you make a sideways move?
