Do I phone or email?

I applied for a job last Monday, part time job at local leisure centre. Sent by CV by email with short covering email but not heard anything (no auto response etc)

I was thinking of calling or emailing to make sure they had received it? Although I'm sure they have Sad there wasn't a closing date on the advert on their website so not sure how long it has been up but it's still there.

I personally would, and have phoned before, however a week isn't long. They may still be in the "receiving" mode of recruitment and not even looked at the CVs yet.

When I phone to follow up on an application I usually just briefly say I'm just following up on a few job applications I've made over the past month and politely ask if they're at interview stage.

Email them next Monday. Don't tell them you've made several applications and you are just following up on all of them - it does not make you look like you care where you work - we all know people make loads of applications but advertising it is not advantageous until you have several offers of employment.
