Anyone work for Cabinet Office?

I've heard Cabinet Office have restarted annual pay progression and my candidate pack said "annual pay raises are dependent on progress in the year" or something to that affect. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? Or knows someone who would know. It's certainly not in the area of CS I'm in currently.

I too am interested to hear if this is the case. I'm also in a government department with a pay freeze this year and likely the following year.

Yes we will all be on a pay freeze this year (and for god knows how long...), although it does say in the pay guidance for this year "where pay progression exists" it will continue, so I'd be keen to know where it exists! The candidate pack for a Cabinet Office role made it sound like it was in place, although how well you have to do to progress the scale I don't know.

I'm making the assumption that pay progression relates to someone with an older employment contract, and probably been a CS for greater than 6 years.

I assumed that too but the person I spoke to (who I can't get back in touch with now) said she had gotten pay progression and had been definitely been there less than 6 years. Plus the application still states pay progression although I suppose that could be for internal candidates on old terms.

Ask your TU rep (PCS or FDA), they can ask national reps who have oversight of all departments pay policies/pay awards.
