Maternity leave question

Hi,

Baby due 14.12.2021 trying to work out correct dates for leave etc. Please could someone clarify if I've worked this out correctly...

My qualifying week (15th week before expected week of childbirth) would be week commencing 29.08.2021 Is this also the latest I could tell my employer I am pregnant - or would it be the week before?

I get paid the last Friday of the month, so they would use August and July's wages to work out SMP payments?

The earliest I could start my maternity leave would be 26.09.2021

Why would you want to start your leave so early? Wouldn't you want to work later so you get more time off after the baby comes?

@Mumdiva99 Perfect! Thank you for sending that link through. Yes plan not to start leave that early, but have a health condition and just wanted to know when I could start if I felt really bad. Thank you again for your help!

No worries. Good luck with the pg. I think things are a bit different if you get signed off by the doctor. But there will be others that know more.
