Part-time - which days to work ?

I currently work 3 days a week, but am flexible as to which. For the previous 10 years I've had capable managers, so we would discuss work and personal requirements in advance and agree on which days of the following week or month I would work.
For the last year the new manager who can't manage her way out of a paper bag tells me at 4.00 the day before that I have tomorrow off. Ok I've put up with this during Covid, I'm a critical worker but I can't take this anymore. I can't plan anything. I can't do exercise that I now have to book to ease my health condition, I can't arrange to meet a friend. Argh!!!!
So I am applying for (non) flexible working.
Question is which days? Work wise we are busy at the beginning and sometimes the end of the week. What about Bank Holidays? Currently I have to use annual leave allowance for a Bank Holiday?
I have one other colleague who is also part-time, she is still flexible but she has a caring responsibility so has most Mondays and Fridays off as she has to travel to an elderly parent.

I like Mondays off I have always found myself more productive than Fridays.

Monday would be best to take off due to giving you more choice as to when to take your pro rata bank holidays. If you work Monday you will need to use your leave to cover them.

In terms of the bank holidays, taking Monday and Friday off is definitely better, however personally I prefer to work the beginning and end of the week. The break in the middle is like an extra weekend.

I recommend working Tuesday - Thursday.

Thank you all for your replies.
I'm still favouring Monday off, and Thursday or Friday, there's an exercise class I like on Thursdays and the supermarket is clocker on Fridays.......
Has anyone put in a Flexible working request?
It seems a bit perverse to apply for less flexible working but I've reached the end of my tether. It's not un-reasonable to know a work rota in advance is it?
