Is it worth having a Linkedin account if you work in the heritage industry?

Lots of my friends who work in other industries keep stressing the importance of having a Linkedin account but I do not hear it mentioned about as much in the heritage sector which is the sector I work in (other than people in my workplace occasionally saying that they have an account but do not use it), is it worth setting up an account or would it be pointless?

I was in heritage for a decade and had LinkedIn, I did get approached by a recruiter once but tbh it didn't do anything for me, heritage is hugely competitive as you know they don't tend to need to use recruiters very much and the size and nature of the industry I found I knew most people via professional bodies and communicated with them that way. I'm in a different industry now and linked in is a bit more useful but still more limited compared to how other people can utilise it.
