Hi anyone been asked to do an interview late in the evening? it will be on zoom but never had that before ever. It is an office job and I asked why not in "normal" office hours...no answer but hiring manager wants to do interviews in evening quite late...it is a red flag for me...will they expect you to be available and working all hours...any thoughts? It seems a bit odd....

In the current climate I don’t think it’s odd, I’m guessing your recruiter is hosting interviews after they finish their usual hours/tasks. Ask to rearrange if you’re uncomfortable

If it's a small organisation or department the manager may be covering the existing workload on top of their own.

Yes it's a red flag. If the manager doesn't have time to interview you in the day then she's overworked and you will be too

I think it's fine. We had this recently when we were interviewing, the interviewers were really busy, but because nobody is really doing anything else, and it was Zoom so people were at home anyway, we did some interviews at 7pm rather than wait weeks until everybody was free. It worked really well.

it is a huge organisation, and late at night 8/9 pm it is a red flag to me...suggests the manager is too busy in daytime ....HR also agreed they are not too happy about the request...i am having my doubts now
