Trade union emails

Wondering if anyone has any knowledge on trade unions and their ballots. My trade union has sent ballot papers and they’re voting on industrial action again and I’ve had several emails from them demanding to know if I have sent in my ballot. They don’t want to know what I voted just if and I want to know before I reply if they are legally allowed to demand I reply and tell them. It’s a confidential ballot. Their emails are boarding on aggressive and I don’t want to reply if I don’t have to. TIA

Of course you’re not legally obliged to tell them if you’ve returned your ballot. You don’t seem to like them very much, why don’t you end your membership?
