Hi everyone, i’m currently 6 weeks pregnant and found out i have been accepted for a new job. I would have been about 5 days pregnant at time of interview. I start at end of April and so worried about telling them. Its not a risk to my pregnancy its pretty much office work. Whats the best way to handle telling them do i tell them now or after 12 weeks? Anyone been in a similar situation? Xx

I would wait until your 12 week scan before telling them.

Can I ask why you're worried about telling them?

I’m just worried it will be seen as a negative thing starting a new job and then disappearing for almost a year. I’m just a worrier i’m probably making this into a bigger stress than what it needs to be

You need to let them know by 25 weeks of pregnancy. I would maybe wait until after your scan before telling them, if you have an uneventful first trimester

I'm in exactly this situation. I was very early pregnant when I had the interview. I decided to start the job ang give myself a chance to prove myself and make a good impression before telling them. So I waited until I was in the job a couple of months. Luckily I wasn't showing.

They were very understanding. Unfortunately I know not all employers would be so understanding.

Good luck.
