Toxic manager and anxiety

Hi just after a bit of advice.
New manager started 6 months ago and I have been off sick for 4 months (not work related). I’m due back next week and struggling with anxiety and loss of confidence.
Things weren’t great when I went off sick and have got worse in the past few months as half the team have left due to the manager.
I’m worried about returning and I know I need to tell her about the anxiety but I don’t know if I should. 😢

Hi op, I'm assuming you'll have a return to work plan put in place after being away for that long.

It depends on what the anxiety is for - do you feel you can manage it or do you think something at work could trigger it?

If she was your manager for a short time I think I'd try and ignore others at this stage and try to be positive about her / the work.

If you go back and it's awful then obviously you'll need to rethink but you might be pleasantly surprised.

@CoRhona

At the moment all I've been told about my phased return is I will be doing half of my contracted hours.
Hopefully work won't trigger my anxiety. Thank you for the advice about ignoring others and trying to be positive its so easy to get sucked into all the negativity.
