Anyone managed to get sicknote from GP over phone?

My GP is offering just telephone appointments at the moment unless extremely serious.
The thing is, I need to ask for a sicknote (heavy stress and depression). Can a sicknote be issued or agreed with just a telephone appointment? Do you go to collect or they send it to your home?

Yes, lots of my team have done this over the past year. No issues with my surgery.

Yes. Mine was for sinusitis.

Yes. I had norovirus and wasn't fit to fly. He gladly dished it out over the phone for fear id come in and spread it to them all!

Yes, for mental health issues.

Yes and they email you the sicknote which you can then email to work.

Yes, I got a sick note just by writing my symptoms down on the online form! For 4 weeks! (Depression & anxiety)

I had six weeks off with depression last year - just emailed my surgery the details and had a sick note by the end of the day, no questions asked.

GPs are generally pretty good, in my experience. If you say you can't cope with work they tend to take you at your word. Probably because so many GPs are depressed too.
