Hi all, I work in a high pressure job 3 days a week but the last year has seen me do another 2 days at home! I have 3 young children and I'm just exhausted. I'm finding after childcare costs I'm coming out with about 1.5 days a wage a week but if I don't earn that we don't have any kind of treats at all e.g. 1 UK holiday a year. What would you all do? I am absolutely totally miserable... My husband has said if I want to leave then leave but has then hinted how much worse of we'll be! I just need unbiased opinions I think! Thank you x

Don’t pack in your job in such unsettled times.Easier to get job when in work. Hang in There.
Sit down and actually write down your incoming/outgoing
Are nursery costs split between you both
Frankly as a woman you need to be suspicious of a man telling you to give up,working
If he wants a sahp it can be him, make that suggestion to him

He earns more than double what I do so definitely not an option and we have a joint bank account and he's never questioned who's is who's. I think he's suggested me give up as he can see how miserable I am, I'm having work pushed on me that is not in my job description with the follow up of 'well it needs to doing and if you can't then there's not really a job' as you say, it's uncertain times for employees with employers having the best pick of the crop!

Ok,so you look at your JD and you record what you’re actually doing vs what you should do
If it feels untenable move from the position of having a post
So if he earns double why are you both so skint paying nursery?

Ohh I think I'll look at my JD and ask to step back a bit and see what they say. He's not always been on a good wage and unfortunately a lot went on credit cards to buffer us both being on very low incomes. We're slowly getting out of debt but it won't be gone for a year or 2 yet but I do worry it will put back at square one.

I think you've got two separate issues to be honest. Sort your work issues first then decide what is the best next step. If you have a "career" job then don't give it up in a hurry

Honestly hang on in,easier to change jobs from a job
It’s all v uncertain and some employers will exploit a bad situation as on you should be grateful...yadda yadda
Hope it gets better, I think it’s going to be rough for a while yet
