Training as a wax therapist

I'm looking for some advice...
I don't have any experience in the beauty industry but think I would really enjoy waxing. I am really good with my hands and very practical plus I am a really good people person. I think I'm good at putting people at ease and I like to think I'm very friendly.
Since having my DC I've struggled with health issues and I can't go back to a full time job that I did before as I think I would find it too stressful.
I'm just looking for the following advice.

  1. Can I just be a wax therapist and train in that speciality or do I need to train as a general beauty therapist?
  1. What's the job market like? Can I work for myself straight away or would I be better working for a salon?
  1. How long does training generally take?

I'm in central London if that makes any difference!

Ideally I need my job to be flexible, fun and to keep me busy once my child starts school , the money is an extra.

Thanks for reading Smile

Did you ever get your questions answered? I'm curious about this too.
