Anyone thinking to move to perm work now that IR35 in private sector is about to start. Benefits of being a contractor not worth it ...anyone thinking to move to perm work as literally no outside IR35 contracts available!

I moved end of last year. Stress levels drastically reduced. Got a great job that I'm loving. With fab holidays, health insurance etc. So glad not to have to do everything myself and take all the risk.

Thanks @WishingHopingThinkingPraying that’s my thinking now as it’s stressful times at the moment without all the IR35 issues and no job security...glad you got a great job! Smile

Not so great if you're older (unemployable...), need ad hoc time off, have medical insurance through your partner, have a home office set-up with proper desk, chair, screens and top of the range laptop, and put all your money into a pension.

IR 35 is not about to start, it started in the 90s. The only thing that is about to change is which party is responsible for determining the correct status.

@AprilxYeah I know that and most clients don’t fully understand it so most are deeming all roles inside!!

Please can I ask your advice? I'm self employed and I've made my employer aware about IR35 and that I want to be employed. He's trying to avoid the issue but I'm worried I'm responsible for it. I only work for his company so it seems obvious to me.... any experiences? thank you

I’m guessing it’s a small company so not liable under IR35?
