Redundancy

lotterywinnerIhope · 12/03/2021 17:53

I'm about to be made redundant and I have been offered another role. I just don't think it is for me and think I will struggle judging by experience.

I think I've been good at my job and would like to leave knowing I can get good references.

The trouble is I feel I may be foolish to turn the job offer down. It's not well paid but it would save me dipping into my savings until I get something else. I have another income but it is not quite enough to cover all my bills.

I think my mind is made up but would welcome any opinions/advice. Thanks

You should be able to take it for a trial period .

If you’re going to be made redundant, will you get a redundancy package? Just wondering if that might make a difference.

Probably but it won't be very much.

I've been in situations where I have taken jobs that aren't for me, to have a job to go to, and they haven't worked out.

I'm not sure how badly I will be affected by the current recession. I have lots of experience but I'm not sure how tough the job market is.

Job market is patchy - is your sector affected by covid?

Yes but I have transferable skills

I'd go with your gut feeling, there is nothing worse than being stuck in a job that you don't enjoy.
Something perfect will come along
